Donald Fredrick Rheubottom, 40, and Jessica Lee Hornback, 33, are suspects in a string of area mail and identity thefts and wanted on felony arrest warrants, Larimer County sheriff's spokesman John Schulz said Tuesday.

A series of vehicle pursuits of the couple began Monday morning when a sheriff's deputy spotted a red Acura hatchback driving near Westgate Drive and Highway 392.

The deputy pursued the fleeing Acura, but stopped the chase because of public safety concerns, Schulz said.

The pursuit was started and stopped several times by different law enforcement agencies throughout northern Colorado, but the chases were called off as soon as public safety was threatened, Schulz said.

The 1987 Acura has black wheels and a Colorado license plate 167XEB.

Rheubottom, of Berthoud, is wanted on two felony warrants, one for a parole violation and one for six counts of felony identity theft. A judge has set a $100,000 bond on the identity theft warrant. He also faces felony charges of eluding police, Schulz said.

Hornback, of Fort Collins, is wanted for 13 counts of felony identity theft. Her bond has also been set at $100,000.

Authorities are also seeking Jesse Dale Malouff, 33, of Littleton, who is wanted for felony aggravated motor vehicle theft. His bond was set at $2,500.

Malouff is an associate of Rheubottom, but was not involved in the Monday car pursuits, Schulz said.
