COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A man accused of being the hit-and-run driver who killed a woman pedestrian surrendered to the Colorado Springs Police Department on Wednesday.
Police said Fidel Garcia, 42, admitted to hitting the victim, Elizabeth Marshall, 31, while she was crossing the street on June 19.
Police said Garcia did not stop and sped away in his car. Marshall died after being struck by the car.
Investigators found the suspected hit-and-run car on June 22. Police then issued a warrant for Garcia's arrest.
Garcia was arrested on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident involving death, according to police records.
