COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Police are looking for a man who grabbed a 5-year-old girl playing outside her home in Colorado Springs, but released her a short time later.
Investigators are just releasing information about the incident that happened on June 12 in the 4300 Block of E. Pikes Peak Ave.
The 5-year-old was playing outside at 9 p.m. when the man grabbed the girl and carried her away. He released her a short time later and the child was able to walk home, police said.
"The victim sustained minor injuries during the attempted abduction," police said.
Shortly after finding the girl, family members told police they saw a man running from the area. Police said they don't know if that man was the kidnapper. However, officers are trying to find him.
That man was described as a short Hispanic man, about 5 foot tall with a thin build. He has black hair in a bowl cut and a black goatee.
Police said they want to talk to the man to determine his involvement in the abduction or to see if he observed any suspicious activity in the area at the time of the attempted abduction.
