Police: Identity theft suspect bit Colorado Springs officer

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - An officer investigating a possible attempt at identity theft was bitten by the suspect in Colorado Springs Friday afternoon.

Police say they were dispatched to a report of a fraud in progress at the Wells Fargo branch located on 3275 West Colorado Avenue. Angela Flummer, 32, was allegedly trying to open an account with a "large personal check."

"When officers attempted to detain Angela she became combative," police wrote.

During the incident, she bit one officer on his left hand. The bite didn't break the officer's skin, as they were wearing protective gloves.

"Flummer will be charged with assault on a peace officer and identity theft from her actions at the bank," police wrote.
