Man accused of hitting multiple businesses

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Police have arrested a man suspected of stealing air-conditioning units from multiple businesses in Colorado Springs.

After a month-long investigation, police said they arrested Anthony Sissom, 44, early Wednesday morning.

Detectives said they spotted Sissom as he was casing a business in the area of South Wahsatch Avenue and East Cucharras Street. Sissom was booked into the El Paso County Jail on suspicion of four cases of felony theft.

Police said he remains a suspect in multiple other cases. Police didn't immediately have figures on the total number of air conditioners Sissom is suspected of stealing.

In the month of September alone, police said they had 19 theft cases totaling 37 air-conditioning units for a loss of more than $110,000.  So far this year, the city's had 42 theft cases totaling 113 air-conditioning units for a loss of more than $240,000.
