Mall employees tied up by gunmen who tried to steal from ATMs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Three gunmen tied up employees inside Colorado Springs' Citadel Mall early Thursday morning while they tried to steal money from ATMs.

Colorado Springs Police report that officers were called to the mall at 4:17 a.m. There, an employee told them that the three armed men entered the store and tied up two other employees.

Several ATMs were broken into with a sledgehammer, police said, but it isn't known if any money was actually taken.

None of the employees suffered serious injuries.

Police said they don't have any available information about the suspects, but did ask that anyone with information contact the department.

The case is being investigated by robbery detectives.
