COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Heavy rainfall flooded roads in northeast Colorado Springs Thursday afternoon, leading to at least one rescue.
Colorado Springs firefighters shared photos of a rescue in the area of Highway 83 and Northgate Boulevard that occurred around 4:30 p.m. A rescuer wearing a life jacket used a ladder truck to reach the person in the gold sedan and bring them a life jacket.
7NEWS Meteorologist Matt Makens said about 1.2 inches of rain had fallen in the area by 4:45 p.m.
To the south and west, Colorado State Patrol stated that a Department of Transportation snow plow was being used to clear mud off Highway 24. The mudslide was near mile marker 273, west of Divide.
