Hammer used in robbery of Check Into Cash store in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A thief was reportedly armed with a hammer during the Tuesday robbery of a Check Into Cash store in Colorado Springs.

Colorado Springs Police say the robbery happened around 4:50 p.m. in the store at 542 South Academy Boulevard. The suspect, a man, approached a lone employee with the hammer.

The man got away with some money and headed north.

The suspect is described as a black man, about 5-foot-4-inches tall and with a medium build. He was wearing a gray hoodie, dark sweat pants, black tennis shoes, a white t-shirt and white cotton gloves. An additional white t-shirt was used to cover his face.
