COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- Fort Carson officials have released the name of a soldier who died after collapsing during routine physical fitness training.

The Colorado Springs Gazette reports (http://goo.gl/gaQnWM ) 28-year-old Spc. Matthew Hester, originally from Hollywood, Florida, collapsed Monday morning and died about an hour later at a hospital. The cause of death has not been released.

Hester joined the Army in March 2015 and arrived at Fort Carson in September as a combat medic. He was assigned to the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division.
