Drugs left behind when suspect runs from crash in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Running away from a two-car crash, police say a suspect left behind thousands of dollars in cash and up to $40,000 worth of heroin.

Colorado Springs Police say the crash occurred around 8:55 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Brook Park Drive and Dublin Boulevard, on the north side of the city. No one was hurt in the two-car collision and the suspect ran away before police arrived.

While officers investigated, they found over 138 grams of heroin and nearly $7,600 in cash inside the abandoned car. The drugs have an estimated value between $15,000 and $40,000.
