Discovery Canyon school campus in Colorado Springs evacuated over bomb threat

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Because of a bomb threat, Academy School District 20 has evacuated its Discovery Canyon Campus in Colorado Springs, which serves students in grades K-12.

District spokeswoman Nanette Anderson says the information about the threat was received before noon. After students and staff were evacuated, police and security officers began to search the buildings on campus.

"All students and staff members are safe and students are being supervised," Anderson wrote in an email.

The students were taken by bus to New Life Church at 11025 Voyager Parkway. Parents are being asked to pick up their children there according to this schedule:

Elementary Students - 1:15 p.m.
Middle School Students - 1:45 p.m.
High School Students - 2:15 p.m.
