Body found in house after woman comes home to find open door and calls El Paso County deputies

Authorities call death suspicious, won't ID victim

WIDEFIELD, Colo. - A body was found inside a Widefield home Wednesday night by deputies who were called by a woman who arrived home to find her door open, El Paso County Sheriff's Lt. Jeff Kramer said.

The sheriff's office is calling the death suspicious, KRDO-TV reported.

The woman, who reported what she thought was a burglary about 7:15 p.m, did not go into the house in the 100 block of Judson St., just west of Widefield Community Park, the Colorado Springs Gazette reported.

Kramer told the newspaper he had no information about the victim and declined to say whether the house had been ransacked.

The El Paso County Coroner's Office did not have any information about the deceased Thursday morning. A spokeswoman for the coroner said new information might not be available until Friday morning.
