Armed robbery suspect changes his mind outside a Colorado Springs hotel

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - An armed man wearing a bandana over his face demanded money from two hotel guests before thinking better of it and running away.

Colorado Springs police report the almost-robbery occurred at 1:11 a.m. in the parking lot of the Academy Hotel at 8110 N. Academy Blvd. Police wrote that the suspect pointed a hand gun at the two hotel guests and demanded money.

But in the very next sentence, police wrote, "The suspect changed his mind and fled on foot westbound through the parking lot."

Officers searched the area but did not find the suspect. The only description provided is that he was an "unknown male" wearing a bandana over his face.
