Colorado Springs Airport Shut Down

Suspect Threatens To Kill Cab Driver

The Colorado Springs Airport was shutdown Thursday evening for a possible bomb threat, 7NEWS reported.

The entire airport was evacuated and all planes were diverted or put in a holding pattern. Also, all roads leading into the airport parking lot are closed, the television station said.

This is all because there was a man in the a cab who was threatening to kill a cab driver.

The cab driver turned his microphone on so the dispatcher could hear the threats.

The dispatcher called police and when police arrived at the airport, they detained the suspect.

The suspect has luggage and police believe there could be a bomb in the luggage so the airport is shutdown while police investigate, 7NEWS reported.

The SWAT team is on the scene and are investigating.
