Indicted Landmark developer found dead in Florida, police say, pending coroner identification

Indicted Landmark developer found dead in Florida

DENVER - The developer of the Landmark condos in Greenwood Village was found dead in Florida two weeks after he was indicted on theft, forgery and embezzlement charges.

Authorities found a body they identified as Zack Davidson, 45, in Hernando County north of Tampa, Fla., according to the Arapahoe County District Attorney's office.

Authorities are waiting for a final identification and cause of death from the coroner.

Davidson was the focus of a CALL7 Investigation in 2008 that showed he directed staff to put labels on appliances that made them appear to be of higher quality.

Davidson was indicted Dec. 27 for allegedly stealing millions of dollars from a metropolitan district, including paying himself $90,000 a month.

Police issued a warrant for his arrest and tracked him to South Carolina, but local authorities were not able to find him to serve him with the indictment. His whereabouts were not know until he was found dead in Florida.

Davidson has not lived in Colorado for at least a year, authorities said.
