PIKESVILLE, Md. - "Disappointing" and "disrespectful."
That is what the spokeswoman for Druid Ridge Cemetery called the actions of a Cleveland Browns fan, who urinated on the grave of former Ravens owner Art Modell.
Kim Tarleton, the spokeswoman said that if any visitors witness any inappropriate behavior in the cemetery to notify the associates in the office immediately, and they will take appropriate action.
“When inappropriate behavior is brought to our attention or witnessed by our associates, offenders are approached and asked to stop and leave the cemetery,” she said.
It is unclear when the fan’s action took place, but it was posted July 18 on YouTube under the username "BrownsFan4Life." The video shows the man wearing a Ravens Ed Reed jersey before tearing it off to reveal a Browns jersey. At that point, the video shows the man apparently urinating out of the bottom of his pant leg with the assistance of a catheter.
The man said despite the original Browns leaving for Baltimore 18 years ago and Cleveland getting the Browns back in 1999, he can’t forgive Modell, who died in 2012, for the move. He added that he “had no choice” before urinating on Modell’s grave.
Baltimore County police spokeswoman Elise Armacost said there is a law on the books that deals with indecent conduct in a cemetery. She said officers at the Pikesville precinct are looking at video and working with the cemetery to see if a crime was committed, which would be a misdemeanor.
