Breastfeeding Controversy Involves Mall Store

Mom Says LoveSac Asked Her To 'Wrap It Up'

Breastfeeding supporters are considering a nurse-in after a mother said she was told to "wrap it up" while breastfeeding at a store at FlatIron Crossing.

The mother lives in Nederland, but was shopping in Broomfield last week.

She told friends that the store manager at the LoveSac told her Thursday the store has a policy against breastfeeding and she needed to stop, according to the Boulder Daily Camera newspaper.

Kristine Lauria told the newspaper she went into the store Friday to talk to a manager about the incident. She said an employee told her that a lot of people were in the store when the woman was breastfeeding and that it was inappropriate.

Alex Rhodeen, director of sales and marketing for LoveSac, said company officials have talked with the FlatIron Crossing staff members about Colorado law and informed them the store does not have a policy prohibiting breastfeeding.
