A body recovered from a canal in Montrose County has been identified as a radio host missing since the first of July. Montrose County Coroner Thomas Canfield says the man was 48-year-old Rick Steele. He says Steele drowned and no foul play is suspected. Montrose County authorities, the Colorado National Guard and area residents helped search for Steele, who was last seen walking his two dogs July 1 along the canal in western Colorado. When the popular radio host didn't show up at at KBNG FM the next day, co-workers alerted police. They found his Ford Ranger pickup parked along Miguel Road and Highway 50 with one of his two dogs resting underneath the truck. The other dog was found running loose about three miles away. A sheriff's deputy found a body pressed against a grate in the canal Saturday, about 12 miles from where Steele's vehicle was found.
