Denver - As the cooler temperatures begin to set in, many homeless people will be looking for warmer shelter.

Homeless women are particularly vulnerable living a life on the street.

But you can help those less fortunate with Cocktails for a cause.

The event is sponsored by the Delores Project. The organization provides a safe, comfortable shelter and services to women battling homelessness.

Donations will be accepted during the benefit. The Delores Project hopes to collect:

Toilet paper
Paper napkins
Paper Towels
Travel-size shampoo & conditioner
Ground coffee/tea
Sugar
Coffee mugs
Feminine hygiene products
Adult diaper products

Cocktails for a cause will be held Oct. 16 at the Cable Center, 2000 Buchtel Blvd. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with a program starting at 7 p.m.
