Local students receive bikes, scholarships at 'Arches of Hope' event

Each year, hundreds of Denver metro area students recieved bicycles from the Asfaw Family Foundation International.
Teachers and community organizations nominate the students based on academic achievement, good citizenship, financial need or chronic illness.
Sunday, December 9, 300 students will recieve a bicycle at an event in Manual High School's Thunderdome Gymnasium.
In addition, 10 Colorado male high school seniors will be awarded college scholarships
The Asfaw Family Foundation International was created to serve as a vehicle to give back to the communities Geta and Janice Asfaw have served over the past twenty-one years as Owner/Operators of McDonald’s restaurants.
The Aim High Scholarship program was established to increase the number of African American males on the college campus.
