February 8, 2013 is the first ever National Girl Scout Cookie Day, declared by Girl Scouts of the USA.

 
The designation is meant to highlight the mission to build leadership skills in girls.
 
By selling cookies, girls goal setting, decision-making, money management, business ethics and people skills, according to Girl Scouts of the USA.
