Fossils found at Ziegler Reservoir dig site in Snowmass Village go on display in Denver

DENVER - Some of the fossils found during the 2011 dig near Snowmass Village go on display in Denver this weekend.
"Mammoths and Mastodons, Titans of the Ice Age," exhibit opens Friday at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. It runs through May 27.
The traveling exhibit includes a selection of pieces from the Colorado excavation.
It will be the first time the majority of the pieces have been on display.
The Colorado fossil site was found in October 2010 after a bulldozer operator uncovered a bone while working on an expansion of Ziegler Reservoir.
During a dig the following spring, crews found more than 4,500 bones from at least 20 different kinds of Ice Age animals, according to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.
The mammals found include mastodon, mammoth, bison, deer, horse, sloth, camel and otter.
