The Cold War is over but demand for uranium is rising again.

It could mean up to six mines open on the Colorado Plateau in Colorado and Utah.

Roch Hochestein, president of International Uranium Corporation, said a nuclear renaissance is occurring worldwide.

Uranium prices have jumped from $7 a pound to $48, the highest prices seen since the Uranium rush of the 1950s.
