Man Convicted Of Stabbing Teen 80 Times

Brownlow Gets Life In Prison, Could Be Out In 20 Years

An Adams County Jury has found a man guilty of stabbing a teen more than 80 times in a murder that occurred in 1980.

Troy Brownlow was found guilty Tuesday in the first-degree murder of Nanine Lynn Grimes, 15. Grimes had been stabbed repeatedly when she was found by her older sister on Sept. 4, 1980.

Numerous blood samples were taken from the crime scene at that time but detectives were unable to find a suspect because the DNA technology was not advanced enough to identify her killer.

However, last year, Brownlow was matched by DNA comparisons to the blood samples found at the crime scene in 1980.

Brownlow was sentenced to life in prison according to laws in effect 1980 when the crime occurred, so instead of life in prison without parole, Brownlow will be eligible for parole in 20 years.
