DENVER -- A Latino police officers group says there's a pattern of discrimination at the Denver Police Department and so far, they believe their complaints have fallen on deaf ears. The Colorado chapter of the National Latino Peace Officer Association said there are eight complaints of discrimination under investigation and another 21 cases on the way."If the city decides they want to negotiate with us, we're willing to go to the table. If they don't, that's not a problem because we're willing, ready and able to go to court," said Leonard Mares, vice president of the Colorado chapter of the NLPOA.
The Denver Police Department hasn't formerly responded to the allegations but the Latino group behind the complaints said the police chief is considering a meeting about the situation.
