Timeline In Aarone Thompson Case

November 14, 2005 -- Aarone reported missing by her father.

November 16, 2005 -- FBI and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children join the case.

November 17, 2005 -- Aurora police name Aaron Thompson and Shely Lowe as "persons of interest" and say Aarone may have been dead for more than a year.

November 17, 2005 -- Aurora police execute search warrant on Thompson home at East Kepner Place.

November 21, 2005 -- Necrosearch, a team specializing in hidden graves, called in to assist.

November 22, 2005 -- Investigators dig in Thompson's backyard.

November 25, 2005 -- Volunteers canvas parts of Aurora looking for Aarone

November 30, 2005 -- Aarone's 7th birthday

December 1, 2005 –-- 7NEWS Exclusive interview w/Aaron Thompson and Shely Lowe. They deny any involvement in Aarone's disappearance.

December 2, 2005 -- New Aurora Police Chief Daniel Oates says, "No adult or child has seen Aarone in approximately 18 months."

December 5, 2005 -- David Lane agrees to represent Aaron Thompson

December 6, 2005 -- Walter Gerash agrees to represent Shely Lowe

December 24, 2005 -- Aurora police downplay claims from an RTD driver who believes he saw Aarone shortly after she was reported missing.

April 19, 2006 -- Court denies Aaron Thompson and Shely Lowe custody of their children.

May 4, 2006 -- Aurora police and Arapahoe County district attorney announce the case will go to a grand jury.

May 12, 2006 -- Shely Lowe rushed to hospital in cardiac arrest and dies.

May 16, 2007 -- Police arrest Aaron Thompson for investigation. It is the first and only arrest in the case.
