Denver police are asking for the public's help to find a man who tried to rob a Walgreens store and got away with handfuls of cash that was thrown at him.

The man robbed the drugstore on South Quebec Saturday and had threatened the clerk with what appeared to be Mace or a stun gun, police said.

The clerk apparently decided to fight back.

After a struggle, the robber started to run out and the clerk grabbed the first thing he could and threw it at the suspect.

It turns out he threw the cash drawer.

The robber was then able to grab some of the money on the floor and get away.

The suspect is a black man in his 20s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 170 pounds. He has a swollen right eye and a barbed wire tattoo on the front of his neck. If you recognize him, call Denver police at (720) 913-2000 or call Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-STOP (7867).
