Residents in a small Michigan community are rattled by the mysterious deaths of their dogs. Here's some of what's been going on:

THE MYSTERY:

It's happening in Washtenaw County's Superior Township

So far nine dead dogs have been discovered on roadsides since March 16

Four of the dogs were decapitated

The Humane Society hasn't been able to match them with owners

Three Rottweilers

Three pit bulls

One terrier

One Labrador mix

One cocker spaniel

THE REACTION:

Dog owners say they are keeping their pets confined

Some fear that whoever's behind the killings could also endanger humans
