Report: Dead Infant Had 20 Broken Bones
Detectives Still Looking At Manner Of Death

LOUISVILLE, Colo. -- A 10-week-old Louisville boy is dead and court records show that the infant had 20 broken bones all over his body.The bones were in various stages of healing, according to court records.Jason Midyette was taken off life support and died on March 3. The coroner's office said the infant died from a closed-head injury. Investigators have not determined the manner of the infant's death -- whether it was accidental, homicide or natural cause.
X-rays revealed 20 fractures in the infant's bones, including both feet, 11 ribs, several fingers and leg bones. He also had a fractured skull, a fractured collarbone, a fractured left elbow and swelling in his brains. The fractures were discovered by a nurse after the boy was rushed to Boulder Community Hospital by his parents.One doctor told police that he had no doubt that the injuries were caused by "non-accidental trauma."No one has been charged for the infant's death but police are calling the death suspicious. Louisville police are focusing on gathering evidence in the case.Officers have already searched his home but have not named any suspects.Midyette's parents have declined to talk with investigators, according to the Boulder Daily Camera.The search warrant also said that the boy had a growth problem and that his mother had a difficult pregnancy.
