Thief Found With Keys, Map To Homes Going To Prison
Gillespie Sentenced To 5 Years

A man arrested with more than 20 house keys and a map marking the Boulder homes that they opened is going to prison for five years.Patrick Gillespie pleaded guilty to burglary, theft and indecent exposure. He was living in his van when he was arrested with the keys to several homes on University Hill. Police are still trying to return stolen jewelry found in Gillespie's van.To look at the items, click here.
Police say some of the keys worked and some did not. At least three of the homes marked on the map had been burglarized. Also found in Gillespie's van were six credit cards belonging to six women, three license plates, bolt cutters, women's panties, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Boulder police said.Boulder police said he had just arrived from Kansas. They began looking into the suspect's history when his cell phone was discovered at the scene of an indecent exposure incident last June.
