The Golden Games

What: Created to highlight the outdoor recreation and lifestyle Coloradans cherish, this three-day event plays host to a variety of sporting events, live music, demos, gear swaps and more.   This is your chance to try outdoor activities like kayaking, river surfing, stand up paddle, slack lining and more.  The Games are designed to be enjoyed by families, athletes, spectators, and even your furry K9 friends.  

Where: Soda Lake, near Morrison Road and C-470, Lakewood, Colo.; and Clear Creek White Water Park, 1201 10th Street, Golden, Colo.

Strawberry Festival Antique and Collectibles Show

What:  It’s the 45th Annual Antique and Collectibles Show featuring over 80 local and national dealers of high-end antiques and collectibles.  Attendees will also enjoy an art show, glass grinder and café with food and drinks available for purchase.

Where: Boulder County Fairgrounds, Exhibit Building, 9595 Nelson Road, Longmont, Colo.

When: Saturday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Sunday: 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Admission: $5 – Adults; Kids under 12 years are free.

Music Arts Festival

What: Presented by the Highlands Ranch Concert Band, this free two-day event will feature a variety of local music entertainment, including jazz, swing, concert and symphonic performances.  Bring the family to enjoy a weekend of music, arts and crafts, and food vendors.

Valverde Bazaar

What: Voted as Denver’s Best New Flea Market by Westword, this curated market will feature emerging artists and independent businesses selling vintage, antique and handmade products.  Over 85 of Colorado’s most creative sellers and food trucks will set up shop in the architectural antiques yard of Eron Johnson Antiques for this one-day market.

Rocky Mountain Pet Expo

What: Grab Fido’s leash and head to the Rocky Mountain Pet Expo.  Enter the cutest dog contest, check out the pet fashion show or be entertained by the Rocky Mountain Dancin’ Dogs.   Plus, animal adoptions, obedience demonstrations, exhibitors, and other fun activities for you and your pet.

Erie Balloon Festival and Town Fair

What: Balloons will take flight in the skies over Erie this weekend, as part of this annual event. Watch the colorful display of hot air balloons as they launch at 6:15 a.m., Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning (weather permitting.)  On Saturday, Historic Downtown Erie will host over 200 craft and food vendors, as well as the Garage Rats Car Show during the day.  Music performances take over the stage at Coal Creek Ball Park Saturday evening, featuring local headliner Hazel Miller Band.  Plus carnival games, activities for the kids, and more.  Fireworks cap off the day at 9:15 p.m.

Five Points Jazz Festival

What: Celebrate the rich history of Denver’s Five Points Neighborhood, which was once home to jazz clubs that hosted music legends including Miles Davies and Thelonious Monk.  More than 30 bands will span eight stages throughout the day featuring a culturally diverse line up of Latin, blues, funk, trios, and more.

Where:  Denver’s Five Points Neighborhood, 27th Street and Welton, Denver, Colo.
