Couple gives kids in need a Christmas

Englewood couple's home filled with gifts

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - About this time of year ole Santa can use a little help. Fortunately, a Colorado couple are eager to pitch in.

Anna and Don Preston's home in Englewood is filled with presents. Everywhere you look -- every hallway, every room -- has stacks of toys!

The Prestons do not have a huge house but they do have big hearts. Every Christmas they provide toys to dozens of less fortunate boys and girls.

"We get families that don't have the finances to give their children a Christmas so they get hold of us," said Don.

"Don and Anna are some of the most giving people I have ever met.  They are Santa and Mrs. Claus at heart," said volunteer Sarah Debruyn.

"We do this all year long. A good majority comes out of our pocket and purse," said Don.

While Santa's helpers wrap the gifts and Anna organizes the gifts, Don cooks for the elves. His role as "Santa Don" started sort of by accident.

"Don grew up without ever receiving a gift his whole life," said Anna.

"This one here (pointing to Anna) opened my eyes what this fun thing is and like Tim Allen this thing (pulls on beard) grew out on its own and went nuts.  So, we became Mr. & Mrs. Claus," said Don.

The Prestons have been bringing smiles to children's faces for more than 10 years.

"It is so cool to see the look on the kid's faces and just the excitement that you see," said Debruyn.

"To see those children's eyes when you show up, it just fills your heart," said Anna.

"We have such a fantastic feeling inside that it's like 'Wow, who really got the gift here?'" added Don.
