Money Saving Mondays: Discount Codes For Online Shopping

Tons Of Copuons, Codes, Offered Online

Just about everyone likes to get in on a good deal, but sometimes you just need to be in on the "secret" -- the secret that's hidden on the Internet that shows you the codes retailers use to give special deals to "some" customers.

If you started with a Google search, using the keywords "discount codes," you would get pages and pages of suggestions. So Consumer Champ Bill Clark narrowed the field down to 10 sites.

The most intriguing was something called NaughtyCodes.com. It's stylish in a kind of wink-wink, nudge-nudge insider-kind of cute. But Clarke said he had to work too hard to find good deals.

CouponCabin.com was the easiest to navigate. Just a few keystrokes and you can easily look at some deals. But Coupon Cabin was missing a few of the deals that can make this a real shopping adventure.

Those deals can be found at CurrentCodes.com. Along with discounts at Nordstrom's, Neiman Marus and even NBC-Universal, you can also find deals at Wild Ties and StupidGifts.com through CurrentCodes.

One thing you have to be careful of on these sites is the ads. Sometimes, sites give preferential listing to advertisers.

Remember, too, that not all Web sites have all the deals but they all rely on feedback from users. So sometimes the information may be dated or just plain wrong.

Bill Clarke's Additonal Notes

Of course, just as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, bargains may be in the eye of the seeker. So in addition to the Web sites cited, here are a few more:

  • AllOnlineCoupons.com
  • CouponCraze.com
  • CouponMountain.com
  • DealHunting.com

Even if you’re not looking for bargains right now, check out Stupid.com for some of the most incredibly stupid, nonsensical gifts around. Some of what you'll see is a matter of taste, so if you find something offensive, just move on. You'll soon find something else that might tickle your fancy.
