Deputies Look For More Information On Peterson

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. -- Jefferson County sheriff's deputies have arrested a man they said hides in young girl's rooms, and they believe he may have committed similar crimes elsewhere.On Feb. 3, deputies were called to the 9600 block of West Chatfield Avenue on a report of an unknown man in a residence. They were told the mother of a 17-year-old found a man hiding in her daughter's closet.When confronted, the man made an excuse for being there and left the residence. The woman followed the man outside and called 911 to report the description of the car the man drove away in.
Police found a vehicle matching the description and arrested Robert Ken Peterson, 45, for investigation of burglary. He posted a $10,000 bond was released a few days later, according to deputies.Peterson was identified as a suspect in a similar incident on Jan. 13 in which a 15-year-old girl reported finding a man hiding in an upstairs bathroom. The girl ran from the home and called 911 from a friend's house. She identified Peterson through a photo lineup, according to investigators."The developing investigation indicates that Peterson may have committed this crime many times in the past," said Jim Shires, a sheriff's office spokesman.The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office obtained a $50,000 arrest warrant for Peterson.
