Two Akron High School freshman have been arraigned in Washington County juvenile court for allegedly putting a video camera in the ceiling of a girls' locker room.

Sheriff Larry Kuntz said the 15-year-old boys are charged with unlawful sexual contact. They were in court Wednesday.

Female students told a teacher on Nov. 7 that they saw a video camera in the ceiling of the locker room where they change clothes for gym class.

Kuntz said school officials didn't contact authorities, but a local resident did.

Akron R-1 School District Superintendent Jim Pagel told authorities two videotapes were destroyed to protect the girls.

The school has about 135 students and is currently on Christmas break.
