McVeigh Juror Reacts To New Book

Juror Thinks Convicted Bomber Deserves No Publicity

Convicted Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh reportedly admits in a new book to carrying out the worst terrorist attack in U.S. history. Martha Hite See The Interview With The McVeigh Trial Juror "American Terrorist" uses 75 hours of interviews with McVeigh from two Buffalo, N.Y., news reporters. The book comes out on Tuesday. Among other things, McVeigh is quoted as saying, "I understand what they felt in Oklahoma City. I have no sympathy for them." Comments like that don't sit well with a juror who listened to countless hours of evidence about that bombing. "During the trial, he would say good morning to me each morning," bombing murder trial juror Martha Hite said. Hite was juror number two. She's surprised that McVeigh is saying anything about bombing the Murrah building. "I thought he was going to be the supreme martyr, and go to his grave without telling us anything," Hite said. Mcveigh is quoted as saying, "The truth is ... I blew up the Murrah building ... and isn't it kind of scary that one man could reap this kind of hell?" "There's a bit of a feeling of, 'Yes, I told you so,' because I feel I know he did, and now he's affirming what I knew," Hite said. McVeigh expressed no remorse for the 19 children who were killed at the day-care center. "He remains steadfast and firm that it was 'collateral damage,' always stressing he would have picked another site," author Lou Michel said. While McVeigh's comments may give a bit more insight into the bombing, Hite isn't sure that he deserves even the slightest bit of publicity. "I don't think he deserves anything right now, (except for) what he's going to get," Hite said. Previous Stories:
