Man Wanted For Robbing Restaurants By Drive-Thru

POSTED: 11:25 am MST December 15, 2005
UPDATED: 1:07 pm MST December 15, 2005

Police are searching for a man who robbed two fast food restaurants Wednesday night by going through the drive-thru.

The thefts occurred at the Wendy's and Taco Bell restaurants on South Hover Road in Longmont and were about 90 minutes apart.

In both incidents a white or Hispanic man driving a silver, smaller style sedan drove to the drive-up window of each restaurant, confronted the fast-food worker, showed a dark colored semiautomatic handgun, and demanded money.

At the Wendy's robbery, the drive-up waiter gave the man an undisclosed amount of money from the register and watched him speed away.

At the Taco Bell robbery, the drive-up staff person, when confronted by the robber, backed away from the window and called 911, so the man was not given any money.

The vehicle he was driving was thought to be either a Volkswagon Jetta or KIA-type vehicle.
