Learn To Make Solid Perfumes, Cuticle Balms

These little gifts are great fun to give and to receive. It takes less than 15 minutes to make up a batch of solid perfume.

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz of sunflower or safflower oil
  • 1/2 ounce grated beeswax
  • 1 Tbsn (1/4 ounce) of essential or fragrance oil
  • Melt the base oil and beeswax over very low heat. Remove from heat & let cool for a couple of minutes then add the fragrance or essential oil. Pour into little decorative pots, tins or jars, label and decorate!

    Cuticle Balm

  • 3 oz. castor oil
  • 1 oz. shea butter
  • ? oz grated beeswax
  • vitamin E capsules (pierce 2 capsules)
  • essential oil of your choice- 10-30 drops (more or less according to your preference)
  • Over very low heat melt beeswax together with the castor and jojoba oils. When they are melted, remove from heat- let cool for a minute or two and add vitamin E and essential oil(s). Pour into small jars and let cool before you put the lids on.

    *The ingredients for both the cuticle balm and the solid perfume can be purchased at a health food store.
