Man Released After Family Pays Ransom

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Colorado Springs police have made three arrests in the alleged kidnapping of a 29-year-old man. Police responded to an empty truck in the middle of a road on Friday night. Witnesses said that Carlos Ornelas was pulled from the vehicle against his will and driven away. He allegedly was held overnight Friday, then released after his family paid a ransom. He suffered minor injuries and was treated at a hospital.
Investigators haven't yet said why Ornelas may have been targeted, but said three men have been arrested and a fourth is being sought.Luis Lopez-Gamez, 21, was arrested at the ransom drop. Anthony Michael Hanes, 18, and his brother, Bradley Michael Hanes, 28 were arrested Sunday.Police said they were looking for Fredy Cesary Lopez-Gamez, 26. He was identified as the brother of Luis Lopez-Gamez. All of the men are under investigation for first-degree kidnapping, according to police.A portion of the ransom money has been recovered but police won't say how much it is.
