Nude Man Killed On Highway Was At Rave Party, Friends Say

Police Seek Suspects In Hit-And-Run, Answers About Rave Party

Friends said that 18-year-old Jared Snyder was at a controversial weekend rave before he stripped and was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Interstate 70, according to 7News. Police said Snyder was sitting naked on I-70 when he was hit early Sunday morning about a quarter-mile from a music festival at the National Western Complex called "Bloomin." Nude Man Killed In Hit-And-Run
Police are still searching for suspects in the fatal hit-and-run accident. On Monday, 7News obtained exclusive information that indicated police were warned about the dance party event at the National Western Complex. Regardless, the promoter and officials at the National Western Complex insist that the party was not a rave. "There was no fights, there was no incident of being rowdy," Marvin Witt, Marketing Director for the National Western Complex, said. Two weeks before the party, Jim Mock, a retired California police officer, was in Denver giving lectures about raves. Monday he said that he and a Thornton police officer went to the complex in person and sent an e-mail to warn them about their event. "I've been involved in investigating the rave community for about 10 years, taught classes in U-S and Australia, and this (event) is definitely a rave," Mock said. "With that information in hand, that's when we sat down with police officers," Witt said. "We took all those elements away. It was a 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. event, no alcohol, a pat down at the door, there was a search procedure, a search for fake ID's," Witt said. The event was only for adults 18 and over, but police confiscated 71 fake ID's, and made nine arrests for the sale and possession of controlled substances. Witt said that he wasn't sure if the complex would host another similar dance party event. Meanwhile, a chat room on a Colorado rave Web site was filled with talk about Snyder and the incident. A message in the chat room read "… My brother's best friend was the hit and run victim, his name was Jared Snyder, and he was 18-years-old, he had gone to Bloomin..." Denver police have still not determined if Snyder was at the Bloomin party or whether he had taken any drugs. Previous Stories:
