DENVER -- Fourteen illegal immigrants were nabbed on Vail Pass Monday night after the pickup truck they were in slid off Interstate 70 during the recent snow storm.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said the group was wearing only jeans and short-sleeved shirts and all of then tried to flee after the accident. One made it three miles before he was caught.

Eleven members of the group were from Guatemala and three were from Mexico.

They were being held Wednesday at the ICE detention center in Denver, awaiting deportation.
