AURORA, Colo. -- Part of the E-470 Tollway was reopened overnight after an accident killed two people Tuesday evening. The accident happened just after 5 p.m. on E-470 and closed a four-mile stretch between Parker Road and Gartrell Road.Accident investigators said the driver of a Toyota 4-Runner lost control, crossed the center median and flipped into oncoming traffic, landing on top of a Ford Explorer, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
The two people killed in the crash were identified Wednesday as Kelvin Norman, 50, of Highlands Ranch and Greg Boss, 35, of Lone Tree.Norman was driving the Toyota and Boss was driving the Ford, according to investigators."It was a pretty horrific crash," said Trooper Eric Wynn, a CSP spokesman. The Colorado State Patrol said the accident may have started when a Jeep bumped the Toyota, causing the driver to lose control.Wynn said the driver of the Jeep was interviewed by troopers. The on-scene investigation into the crash continued until just after midnight Wednesday morning, when all lanes of traffic were reopened. The Colorado State Patrol would like to hear from anyone who might have witnessed the accident.
