Cell Phone Recall Announced
Kyocera Wireless QCP-3035 Recalled For Exceeding Emission Standards
A company that makes cellular telephones is replacing about 11,000 of the devices that were sold through Denver-based Qwest Communications.
Officials said that Kyocera Wireless Corporation recently notified the
FCC and Qwest that one model of its telephones -- Model
QCP-3035 (pictured, left) -- exceed energy emission standards while operating in analog
mode.
Officials said that the replacement program affects about one percent
of Qwest wireless customers in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa,
Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington
and Wyoming. But officials said that the phones do not create a health or
safety issue.
Kyocera Wireless Corp. is one of the world's leading wireless phone manufacturers. North American operations employ more than 8,000 employees engaged in the manufacture and sale of a broad range of state-of-the-art, high-technology products in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
