Littleton police announced on Thursday the biggest haul of drugs in the city's history and it all happened accidentally.
Littleton Police Describe What They Found
When officers responded to a report of suspicious activity at an apartment building on South Bannock Street Thursday morning, they contacted a woman in the apartment to ask several questions.
Because of a language barrier with police officers Jim Werder and Ken Hicks, the woman went searching for a translator. When the next door neighbor opened his front door, the officers spotted several knives and a large amount of what they suspected were methamphetamines in his apartment.
About a dozen people, who were in the apartment allegedly processing the drug and preparing it for distribution, began jumping from the windows of third floor apartment and running away when they spotted the officers, Littleton police spokesman Dan Stocking said.
After obtaining search warrants, officers confiscated nine pounds
of methamphetamine, with an estimated street value between $400,000 and $600,000, and several weapons, police said.
