Silvia Johnson admitted to providing alcohol and drugs at the teen parties she hosted.

'Cool' Mom's Bond Jumps To More Than Half-Million

Silvia Johnson To Be Sentenced For Having Sex With Teen Boys

A 41-year-old Arvada mother who hosted sex and alcohol parties for high school students did not appear in a Jefferson County courtroom Thursday morning when her cash bond was increased to $550,000.

Silvia Johnson remains hospitalized, recovering from an accident in which she let an underage girl drive her sport utility vehicle.

Johnson was to have been sentenced Sept. 26 on two misdemeanor counts of sexual assault, and nine felony counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. But Johnson and three children were seriously hurt the day before her sentencing when the SUV they were riding in rolled down an embankment along Interstate 25.

The car was being driven by a 14-year-old girl even though Johnson was the only licensed driver in the vehicle.

Prosecutors say she could face additional charges related to the crash. The district attorney on Thursday asked that her bond be increased because they were not happy that she incurred more charges while she was out on bail.

Her sentencing on the charges of sexual assault and delinquency of a minor is now scheduled for Nov. 14. She faces up to 58 years in prison.

Johnson has admitted to giving drugs and having sex with teenage boys because she wanted to be a "cool mom." Investigators said Johnson told them she wasn't popular when she was in high school and throwing the parties made her feel like one of the group.

The parties took place at her home between October 2003 and October 2004 and involved boys from Arvada West High School.

Update: Silvia Johnson was arrested Friday and booked into the Jefferson County Jail. To see her new booking photo and read more about her arrest, read our updated story.
