The Adams County Sheriff's Office has located a missing 28-year-old woman who they said was taken by force by her ex-boyfriend early Sunday.

Deputies were called to the 4800 block of West 52nd Avenue at 4 a.m., on a report of a kidnapping. They were told that Kelley N. Garcia was staying at the location after a previously unreported incident of domestic violence that involved her boyfriend.

A family member told investigators that Garcia's ex-boyfriend forced his way into the home a half hour earlier, physically assaulted the homeowner and forced Garcia to leave with him.

Investigators are looking for Adam Deherrera, 30, in connection with the incident.

Garcia showed up at the sheriff's office Monday afternoon to let investigators know she was not harmed.

Detectives are still looking for her ex-boyfriend.

Deherrera is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, weighing 200 pounds, with medium build, black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen driving Garcia's 1992 black, two-door Honda Civic, with Colorado license plate 092 LYL.

The sheriff's office has asked that anyone who has seen or knows the current whereabouts of Deherrera to call 911 and inform the nearest law enforcement agency.
