Lakewood Police Believe The Shooting Is Accidental

Lakewood police confirm a 5-year-old boy was shot and killed by a 3-year-old friend on Friday morning.Police were called to an apartment complex in the 1600 block of Iris Street at 9:46 a.m.A 5-year-old was found with a gunshot wound to the chest, according to Lakewood police spokeswoman Bonnie Martin.He was taken to a hospital where he died.Martin said the shooting appeared to be accidental, but wouldn't get into details as to why police believe that.Police said a 3-year-old visiting from Kansas shot the 5-year-old.An adult has been arrested on suspicion of child abuse. He's been identified as being 23-year-old Adam Dean Laham.
