ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. -- A registered sex offender who witnesses said chased two females as he ran naked behind them was arrested by Arapahoe County Sheriff's deputies Monday morning.

Investigators said that James D. Christner, 34, was masturbating as he chased the women near Clarkson Street and Easter Court.

Several 911 calls came in about 5:14 a.m. that described a naked man harassing two women.

One of the women said they were on an early-morning stroll when a man jumped out of some bushes and said, "I'm naked!"

A deputy sent to the location found a suspicious car parked nearby with men's clothing in the front passenger seat. The license plate of the car was traced to Christner.

Deputies established a permiter and used a K-9 unit to track the suspect through the neighborhood. They found Christner in a back yard on Easter Place.

Investigators said that Christner has a history of indecent exposure in Arapahoe and Douglas counties and previous arrests for indecent exposure and criminal trespass.
