Warrant Issued For Boy In Ecstasy Case
Boy Provided Drug To Girl Who Suffered Reaction, Police Say
An arrest warrant was issued Thursday for a Douglas County boy who allegedly provided the drug ecstasy to a 15-year-old girl who suffered a reaction to the drugs, police said.
Police charged the boy with one count of distribution of a schedule one controlled substance.
Police said that the boy bought three tablets of the drug from an unidentified male at a dance party, and then provided the tablets to the girl. The girl fell ill after taking the drug, and was treated and released from Littleton Adventist Hospital.
Police said that the boy is expected to turn himself in on Friday, as part of an agreement. The boy and his family have cooperated throughout the investigation, police said. A $5,000 bond was listed on the warrant.
Detectives are still trying to learn the identity of the man that sold the drug to the boy, but do not expect to make any arrests in the near future, police said.
