Images from a purported al-Qaida video show what may be the last possessions of a Colorado Navy SEAL killed in Afghanistan.

Video airing on an Arabic-language news network purportedly shows the photo identification card and weapon of 25-year-old Petty Officer 2nd Class Danny Dietz, of Littleton.

Dietz went missing in Afghanistan on June 28. His body was recovered July 4. Dietz was a member of an elite commando team that came under attack on an anti-terrorism mission. Two other Navy SEALs on his team also died. A fourth comrade managed to escape to a village and was later rescued by U.S. forces.

The two-hour video, aired on Al-Arabiya satellite news network Friday, also shows alleged militants showing off their weapons, including an M-4 carbine, the type Navy SEALs use in the field. It's part of a propaganda film allegedly from al Qaeda called "The War of the Oppressed People."

Al-Arabiya would not say where or how it obtained the video. Navy officials are investigating its authenticity.

Dietz was buried in July at Fort Logan National Cemetery, not very far from Heritage High School in Littleton, where he graduated in 1999.

A Chinook helicopter en route to search for Dietz' four-man reconnaissance team crashed June 28, killing all 16 aboard -- eight special operations soldiers and eight Navy SEALs. The U.S. military believes the helicopter was shot down by insurgents.
